A chorister since childhood under the direction of Pierre Kaelin with the Fribourg Boys’ Choir, he quickly rose to second and then third voice (a sign of a musical ear), and even landed a few solos. After his voice broke, he never stopped singing.
The Chœur des XVI , and later the Quatuor Laqué , would be important milestones in his career. With the former, he would experience excellence, and thanks to the latter, he would be introduced to arranging and then composition. Finally, André Ducret (1945-2025), whose last student he would be, guided him in giving his music the harmonic coherence that earned him a good rating at the 2025 Leopold Bellan International Competition (Paris, France).
